In a climbing shoe rubber, the most important feature is the grip. The sole must deform to replicate the micro roughness of the surface, creating a joint that allows you to apply force without slipping. The compound must therefore mainly ensure this property in all conditions.
Guma has developed 5 types of compounds to meet the requirements of grip and durability:
Elite
Elite is a semi-soft compound created to maximize the precision on the support.
Recommended use: where adherence is preferred.
Specialties: bouldering and lead (indoor and outdoor)
Sole thickness: 4mm
Features: exceptional grip in all conditions of use.
Endurance
Endurance is a semi-rigid compound born to offer maximum support on the smaller supports. balance between grip and wear resistance.
Recommended use: edging conditions.
Specialties: Lead (indoor and outdoor) multipitch.
Sole thickness: 4mm
Features: balance between grip and wear resistance.
Indoor Race
Race is an extremely soft compound with a high grip, created to offer maximum adherence especially on smooth surfaces.
Recommended use: smooth surfaces, smears and small supports.
Specialties: indoor bouldering and speed.
Sole thickness: 3.5mm
Features: maximum grip.
Indoor Rental
Rental is a compound created for rental shoes with a good compromise between rigidity and durability.
Recommended use: indoor
Specialties: bouldering and lead (indoor)
Thickness: 4mm
Features: no-mark rubber.
